August 14, 2010 - We Got Her and We're Not Letting Go
We are pleased to announce the newest member of the Appaman Dream Team.
Her name is Alyssa Miller and she hails from Passaic County, NJ. She has been in the industry for a while, working at a showroom, so many of
you may already be familiar with her charm and amazing work ethic. Her favorite food is pasta but she has enjoyed the plethora of Asian
delights we feast on in the office. Her favorite location for respite from the grind at Appaman is in the Netherlands where her extended
family resides. She is a sucker for anything glow in the dark...
Call the office to introduce yourself, send her some stars for her ceiling, but most of all welcome her to our ever growing family of
AWESOME!

July 30, 2010 - Back to School Already
Well here at Appaman HQ we are gearing up for back to school.
Harald and Lynn will officially have two girls going back to school and that is HUGE. They received their box of clothes last week
and were thrilled by the skinny jeans, jeggings, sweatshirts and tees. The girls are serious Brooklyn tomboys so now they are suited
up and ready to learn.
Beyond personal stuff, the rest of the country is also heading back to school and hopefully they are doing it with style. To honor
the school year we have put together what we believe to be our most impressive collection to date. It is hitting the stores as this
post is being typed. Check out your local vendors or shop online, but the collection has something for everyone so please check it out,
drink your milk and have a great school year!

July 6, 2010 - She's Got the Eye
We've been exceedingly fortunate to be surrounded by such talented folks here at Appaman.
One such person is Katherine Kin. She's the style maven responsible for many of the great new designs you've seen in recent years. In addition to working with Appaman, she's also worked for designers Alice Roi and Marc Jacobs. Her influence can be seen in the angular lines and modern details of our most current collections. Katherine's keen eye for detail has helped us to elevate our brand and expand to a larger market and for that, we are eternally appreciative.
In addition to being visually creative, Katherine is also is a psych-punk band called Von Haze with her husband Travis. The two of them are living the bohemian dream with their cats and dogs in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
Katherine has been involved the creation of many more pieces that will hit stores in July. We are excited to get them out into the world to be enjoyed and we've got to shout it from the rooftops that we would not be where we are today without her! Mad props to you, Mrs. Kin!

June 20th, 2010 - Giving Credit Where Credit's Due
A business is only as good as the faces representing it. If this is true, we feel like we have a really great thing going because our regional reps are where it's at! We'd love to give them all a shout out.
In New England we have Dan and Judy Greenberg, two very kind and enthusiastic folks with the patience to guide anyone through the multitude of options in the children's market. They are a great couple to work with.
The Midwest has us with Kristine Prugh at Twinkleberry and Sons, a focused and driven woman. She has a great repore with the businesses in her region. She can always be counted on to come through with an order and she always seems one step ahead of the rest.
Lisa Fentress at Mami and Babi in Colorado has been with us for a long time and though her territory is more isolated, many of her stores have been with us since our first year. Lisa is the kind of person that maintains strong relationships with her stores. She is super sweet and always come with a smile.
In Atlanta, our bubbly rep Ali Thompson dominates the scene. She's got a really great territory and definitely makes the most of it. She's got a winning personality and can sell ice cubes to eskimos! We love it!
Dallas, Texas is home to Cultivated Kids Showroom and Jill Griffith. Our relationship with Jill has grown exponentially through the years and she and her team have become a real powerhouse in the region. Our recent trip to hang with them was a riot.
On the west coast, In Play Showroom is rocking the house in a big way. The whole team is energetic and fun, lead by Sandra Martinez who has her finger on the pulse of what's happening in California and in the industry as a whole. Sandra came in for Summer's birthday and she is not only hard working but girl, can have a good time too!!
These trusted folks are one of the most crucial pieces of the puzzle for us, and we have been incredibly blessed to find such a great assortment of personalities to do us justice. So with that, we'd like to tip our hats to our wonderful reps and thank them for a job well done! Thanks, guys! We couldn't do this without you.

May 27, 2010 - Lights, Camera, Action!
We would like to take a moment to introduce our fans and friends to the creative force behind all of our awesome videos.
Our good friend, Michael Canzoniero has taken on the task of presenting Appaman in an energetic and fresh way. Each season
we look forward to seeing how he transforms our fun and crazy photo shoots into something polished, exciting and true to
who we are.
Michael studied at the New York University Graduate Film Department and has written, produced and directed several short
films that have played at the top film festivals in the U.S. including Sundance, Tribeca, SXSW and Hamptons. He's worked
on an award-award winning sports documentary, directed his own acclaimed short film, Hyper, which was played at over 30
film festivals. He's even directed and co-written a feature film, Wedding Bros. In short, the man is serious business! We
are so grateful that he's offered his vision to our cause!
In late June, we will release the new Appaman video Mike made for Fall-Winter 2010 which we are all certain you will love.
And in a couple of weeks we will begin shooting our Spring 2011 catalog and our buddy will be there spinning the whole
experience into video gold! You're the man, Mike!
Here's our current Videos. Enjoy!

April 30, 2010 - Friends of Appaman
As the shipping season winds down here at Appaman HQ, we begin the preparing for the part of the job we love the best:
the photo shoot! Our samples for Spring-Summer 2011 will be arriving soon and once Harald and Lynn get back from their
annual trip to Norway (bringing gifts of brown cheese and caviar for all) we will wrangle our precocious little models,
set up the backdrop and lights and brace ourselves for the whirlwind.
The calm at the center of the storm documenting it all is our friend and fellow Brooklynite, Neil Beckerman.
Neil has been photographing our collection since Spring 2009 and frankly, we’ve never looked better. He has worked for an
extensive list of ad and publishing juggernauts comes from a strong background in Portrait and Sports Photography, making
him perfectly equipped to handle a room full of spastic 6 year olds, high on fruit juice and cookies. We feel that he really
captures the spirit of our collection and also shines a light on the personalities sporting them. He’s taken our visual
presentation to the next level and for that we are totally grateful. As our samples come in and we begin planning the shoot,
we cannot wait to see what Neil has up his sleeves.

April 05, 2010 - New Blood at Appaman
Meet Maryam! She’s the newest addition to “Team Appaman” and we are totally stoked to have her. She will be filling the role of Accounts Manager
at Appaman HQ and we can’t wait for you all to get to know her as we have these past few weeks. Feel free to shoot her an e-mail saying hello
and introducing yourself. In the meantime, we’d like to share a little of what we’ve come to learn about her.
Maryam is originally from Richmond, VA but now hails from the same Brooklyn neighborhood as Megan and Summer. In fact, she and Summer live in
the same building! They’ve been known to share gardening advice and swap baked goods on the weekends. She’s a great cook and has a wide range
of skills in the kitchen but her specialty is Afghan food. She has a killer sense of humor, can make friends with just about anybody and has
a real go-get-‘em attitude. Needless to say, we are sold!
Welcome to the family, Maryam!

March 05, 2010 - Appaman ACC has an Affair in Pretty Things
Spring has finally sprung and word has it from our retailers across the land that our current season is flying off the shelves. We’d like to
think that is in large part due to some really stellar graphics, not only from Harald’s desk but from our Artist Capsule Collection. Last season
you saw us collaborate with NYC Street Artist AVONE, so this year we sought out a feminine touch to bring something special for the girls.
Tokyo illustrator Kayo Aiba is that “something special”.
Our faithful Accounts Manager, Megan told us of a café in Soho that specializes in Japanese renditions of American fare so we stopped in for a
bite one afternoon. As we stepped in the entryway we were greeted by these enormous tapestries made of patchwork fabric and stitched line work
that we instantly fell in love with. We asked the owner of the café how we could reach the artist, enlisted the help of our friend Hiroko to do
some translating, and the rest as they say, is history!
Kayo’s designs for Appaman reflect the same flowing lines, sophisticated compositions and textural aspects of her larger works. When we asked
her what the focus of her work is, she put it very simply: “Prettiness”. We hope that our offering in collaboration with Kayo makes little girls
from every corner of the world feel their prettiest, wear after wear.

February 02, 2010 - Punxsutawney Phil say's Spring is coming our way
Once we got word that the infamous rodent saw his shadow our little warehouse elves started packing orders for
Appaman's fresh and fun Spring collection. We are in full swing of shipping season. There is an element of stress
and excitement and everyday is a full day at the office.
We emptied out the warehouse and made great donations to Haiti, through K.I.D.S. (http://www.kidsdonations.org/), to
the LYFE programs in the Bronx and in Brooklyn, and to Baby Buggy (http://www.babybuggy.org/). It's great to be able
to help out in situations that are in such need. It's like Spring cleaning with a purpose.
Now we are just concentrating on getting the Spring goods where they need to go. So keep on the lookout for Appaman
Spring 2010 Collection in a boutique near you. You can't miss it, it's the cute clothes you never got to wear as a
kid.

January 10, 2010 - Happy New Year!
The month of giving was a HUGE success. We were able to donate over 300 coats to NY CARES. We had a blast doing
Christmas with the LYFE program and we got two new High Schools to give donations to. The two new high schools are
located in a lower income area of Brooklyn and are in need of aid and help, so we are happy to be connected with them.
To start the year we sent them two huge boxes of clothes for the kids.
We are now rejuvenated and ready for a great new year. We had our first trade show of the year and it was better and
bigger than ever. Our sales were through the roof and the reaction to all our new outerwear was very positive. If you
missed the show please call to schedule an appointment with a representative near you, or in our showroom in the Lower East Side.
Happy New Year!!

December 20, 2009 - Month of Giving, Part III
The next segment in our Month of Giving brings us back to our friends at the LYFE Program which, if many of you may remember
from previous posts, was started by the NY Department of Education to assist teen parents in continuing their education, and
to help ensure their children are cared for in a safe and nurturing environment while their mothers attend classes during the
day.
We’ve developed a friendship with the social worker (Her name is Ana and she makes a mean carrot cake!) at Jane Addams
High School in the Bronx and have been supplying the parents there with coats and warm winter clothes for their little ones.
It was brought to our attention that many of the young parents and their families become financially strained during the
holidays making it more difficult to afford necessities for their children. We jumped at the opportunity to lend a hand
and drove out to the Bronx with a carload of diapers and gift-wrapped toys for everyone.
Ana and the girls were so sweet, appreciative and welcoming, giving us a tour of the impressive on-site daycare facility
and introducing us to some of the staff and children (who couldn’t be cuter, by the way). We were struck by the warmth
and spirit of everyone we met and hope to continue giving to the LYFE program in 2010.
To learn more about the program, visit their website.

December 15, 2009 - Month of Giving, Part II
As part of our month of giving, Summer and Harald had the privilege of visiting the Suzhou Children's Welfare Center in Sozhou, China.
This impressive
facility houses 200 children with multiple disabilities. They are cared for by an incredibly compassionate staff. It is the oldest orphanage in China at
300 years old. The facility provides all types of rehabilitative services for the children including speech, physical and occupational therapies. It also
has a medical staff on hand for more serious illnesses.
Appaman is proud to have donated 500 pieces of clothing for the children. Taking photographs was not allowed inside the study or living quarters so you'll
just have to imagine a place that both Summer and Harald found incredibly inspiring and a positive experience they both hope to repeat in the future.

December 3, 2009 - Being Thankful and Giving Back
This year all members of the Appaman team had great Thanksgivings. We rested, we ate, we gave thanks, we ate, we chilled.( And and we ate a bit more.)
We have a lot to be thankful for around here. Because of this we are starting our month of giving. December 4th we launch the Annual Appaman Coat drive.
We understand the need to be warm on cold days and encourage people to donate their gently used coats. We match these coats with new kid's coats and donate everything to New York Cares Coat Drive. We are setting up a box at our offices in the Lower East Side so if you have donations please come on by 195 Chrystie St. Suite 404. If you are out of state or out of reach we encourage you to do your own coat drive.
Keeping America warm one garment at a time.

November 10, 2009 - Looking back and moving forward
Harald turned 40 last month, and to celebrate his coming up in age we honored him with this quilt that maps some of his designs.
Just a little glance into his talent and success. Happy Birthday Boss Man!!
We just closed the production for Spring 2010 and we are thrilled with sales. We'd like to extend a huge thank you to all the
stores, our sales team, and of course our customers. Your continued support always leaves us in awe.

October 8, 2009 - Hitting the streets
So the first sighting happened late last week and it couldn't have been on a cuter kid.
Ryder Robinson was seen all over Manhattan with his mom Kate Hudson wearing the cosy yet chic Appaman Black Puffy Coat.
It was a great sighting to start the fall season. Looks like it will be a good season.
|
| |

September 30, 2009 - We'd like to thank...
SO we just found out that Appaman was nominated for an Earnie Award in the category of Boys 2T-7 sportswear.
"The Earnie Awards are Earnshaw’s magazine’s annual honor recognizing design excellence in children’s wear. For more than 30 years, the magazine has celebrated retailers’ picks for the best kids’ fashions.
“These awards give retailers the opportunity to salute those brands that have exhibited the value, quality and fun that consumers have been seeking.” - Caletha Crawford, Publisher of Earnshaw's magazine.
Yahoo! Thanks to the great people that nominated us, we are honored! The results will be published in the November issue of Earnshaw's so trust me you will know if we win, and if you have to ask we didn't.

July 22, 2009 - Appaman Settles in Across the Pond

This past week Appaman was thrilled to sign on with FourMarketing, a very respectable distribution house located in the U.K. They are a power house in the sales and marketing industry, working with mens, women's and children's fashion. Their interest in Appaman was a true compliment.
The relationship will help broaden the brand exposure on the continent. Appaman has a fresh take on the children's wear industry and has already shown great promise in this territory so with FourMarketing at the helm, good things are certain.
|
| |

July 14, 2009 - Let the Shipping Begin
We are ready to unpack the container, unload the boxes, and let the shipping begin. This is by far the most inspired and exciting season Appaman has provided to date. The stores are biting at the bit to get the merchandise. Our phones are ringing off the hook for reorders and the clothes have barely had a moment to hang. We hope you agree and get a chance to see the collection in all it's Appaman glory.
|
| |

July 8, 2009 - A Picture's Worth a 1,000 Words
We are super-psyched to announce the launch of a new collection for Appaman that will be featured each season. It is called the Artist Capsule Collection and each season we will feature a new artist. The artists will be commissioned to use our canvas for their vision.
The first artist in commission is AVONE (pronounced A-V-1). He is a world-famous graffiti artist that is from Brooklyn. He sells art on the streets of SOHO and Harald met him one day, purchased some art and the rest is history.
To see more of AVONE's work click here. To see the AVONE collection see below. It will be available for purchase across the world on July 16th.
Please contact us if you can't find it, because we know you want it.
|
| |

June 25, 2009 - Refueling, Breathing and Chasing Goats
Just a little proof that Harald is really from Norway and our yearly trips are integral for recharging the Scandinavian inspiration that makes Appaman so Appaman.
The family went for three blissful weeks that included glaciers, goats, and drinking fresh water straight from the stream.

| |

June 10, 2009 - Because We Can!
We read an article about a program that is part of the Department of Education in NYC and we immediately felt the need to help.
It is called the LYFE program and it allows teen mothers to continue their schooling while their newborns and toddlers attend a daycare in the school. It is allowing these women a second chance to receive their high school diplomas and improve their situation in life.
I visited one of the programs in the Bronx and was very impressed. These young women are excelling in both parenting and school. The babies are thriving in a very nurturing environment. Even though I saw a great amount of success, according to the social worker in charge, these women can always use a little help and that is where we come in.
Appaman was very proud to donate three boxes full of new summer clothes for all the babies. We hope this is only the beginning and our intentions are to develop a seasonal gift to the program and lend a hand in an area we can.
|
| |

June 2, 2009 - Summer time in NYC
Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber were out for a family stroll last week in NYC. Their adorable son Sasha was along for the ride, sporting our favorite Appaman Football Jersey in Sunny.
Summer never looked so good. Enjoy it, school is almost out and hot days and cool pools are right around the corner.
We love Summer in the city!!!
|
| |

May 19, 2009 - Everything is a Go
Summer Walker, our Production Manager, just checked on Fall/Winter 2009 manufacturing. It looks great!
The quality is awesome and the colors are bright and popping. The collection is innovative, fun and wearable. We are anticipating a great season. We are all very excited for the customers to get a glimpse.
It starts to ship in July so be on the look out!!
|

May 4, 2009 - Appaman in Asia - Part II
Appaman is sold in a fabulous high end retail store in Shanghai called Lollipop.
The owner was asked to style a shoot for Shanghai Family. She had a blast and rocked Appaman on the cover in a preppy tennis themed shoot.
We are thrilled to be a part of the fun. Who knew Appaman could hold it's own on the clay courts of China?
|
| |

April 16, 2009 - Appaman in Asia
Last month we put together a donation to the Go Vap Orphange in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It was received with open arms.
A friend was on site to document the event. She said the careworkers went ape for the stuff and within minutes the entire orphanage was dripping in Appaman.
To see more of her images, click here.

April 2, 2009 - Sending You a Virtual Cupcake
We just wanted to send all our Vendors a huge thank you for your continued support. Every season we try to bring it stronger, more cohesive and with more
fashion friendliness.
We are so thrilled to have such a high percentage of repeat business. We are also thrilled for all you newbies. This industry has been
very good to Appaman and we want to let you know that your trust and interest in our brand is really the foundation for our inspiration.
We just calculated
our Fall 09' sales and we want to thank you for trusting us in your hearts and stores. You the people, deserve some sugar and we're bringing it how we can...

March 18, 2009 - New Looks, New Lines, Old Friends
We presented our new booth at the ENK trade show and had an amazing response to both the booth and the collections.
We were thrilled to see all our vendors,
catch up on family news, business news and the dreaded economy news. We had a lot of hope flowing and most vendors said their Spring sales were off to a
flying start. We had an amazing response to the new layette line and people were thrilled to bring denim back in, especially the new grey and rust colored
denim. We have a few weeks before we close the line so if you missed the show and want to order fall please call us and we'd be happy to help 212 460 5480.
Here's wishing all our reps great markets in the coming weeks!!!
|
| |

February 25, 2009 - Welcoming the Birth of Appaman Mini
We are proud to announce the birth of a healthy new layette collection. It is soft, cozy, current and adorable.
We have been wanting to do this for a long time but waited to do it right. We collaborated with Judy Pokonosky of famed Queen Bee Baby.
She has such an eye for fabrication and print, we knew she would understand us and that the marriage would work. It did!!!
The end results are fabulous. It has been received very well by the lucky few who have seen it. We'll be featuring it at the March ENK
Booth #1534 and hope you will stop by to see it, touch it, and want it.
We are over the moon about this new member to the Appaman family so please come and "See The Baby"
|
| |

February 11, 2009 - Let the Shipping Begin
We are pushing forward, getting approvals and shipping out some of the cutest goods to date.
Everything landed without a hitch and our warehouse got into shipping mode. They are geared up and in a packing frenzy (note Snapple and Gatorade to help with hydration).
We are in the process of getting information from all our vendors, so if you want your merch give us a call or email regarding your orders.
It is sunny here in Brooklyn today and I swear I see buds on the trees... Oh, dear old friend Spring come sooner so my kids can wear their twirly skirts and 3-tiered tanks.

January 29, 2009 - Happy Birthday to the Trifecta
There are some inspirational people in this world that help keep Appaman moving. The list is quite extensive and each individual is dear to our hearts and important in their own unique way. Three of them have their birthday today and we'd like to give a shout out to them.
The first and foremost is Kaya Moon Husum. She is our lovely daughter. She is officially 5 today and ready to take on the world. She is always a source of inspiration and the way she chooses to live her wild and precious life always makes us laugh.
The next is Joshua Philip Kristal, one our oldest friends. His free spirited lifestyle reminds us that life is made for living.
The third is Oprah. She completes the trifecta with her encouraging motivation to live one's best life. She gives the gift of education, philanthropy, and spirituality.
To the trifecta we say...live long, live strong and have a good time.

January 20, 2009 - A New Home on the West Coast
In an attempt to mix things up a bit we took a leap of faith and switched showrooms - with a new Fall collection, a new layette line, and some new faces on the sales front. We are now proud members of the acclaimed showroom In-Play.
We are thrilled to have a new perspective on the collection and hope you will agree. Any and all West Coast inquiries should now be directed to Sandra, Vanessa or Katy at In Play Showroom, 110 E 9th Street, Suite A-672, Los Angeles, CA 90079 (213) 489-7908 info@inplayshowroom.com

January 3, 2009 - Happy New Year
We at Appaman would like to extend our warmest wishes to you and yours. We are so grateful for our vendors, our manufacturers and of course our customers.
2008 was a great year for us and we hope to extend this good fortune into 2009. We are doing everything to help our vendors during this trying economy. We hope you'll hang in with us.
All our Best,
Harald, Lynn Megan and Summer

December 23, 2008 - Learning in Style
Kingston Rossdale was rocking the Appaman puffy coat in crimson while learning to ski with his ever fashionable mom, Gwen Stefani.
The family hit the slopes in Deer Valley and got all the attention. Kingston has proven to be an Appaman fan on numerous occasions but this photo just sums up our intentions with this coat.

| |

December 10, 2008 - Keeping NYC Warm
We are so thrilled to announce the success of our first annual friends and family coat drive. For the last three years Appaman has been donating new children's coats to the NY Cares Coat Drive. This year we thought it might be fun to rally the troops and try to make this a bigger event.
Friends and family donated their gently used coats and we matched these with new kid's coats from Appaman. We received 150 coats and then thought we'd one up them with 250 new Appaman coats. We are proud to announce we donated a total of 400 coats in an effort to keep New Yorkers warm.
|
| |

November 20, 2008 - Happy Birthday, Mr. President
A little while ago was Harald's Birthday and the staff at Appaman got him the best gift ever. I thought I'd share this fabulous idea for all you stumped holiday shoppers.
Harald (President of Appaman) is an absolute shoe whore. He is on a first name basis with the sales staff at Zappos and his collection is taking over our home. So Megan and Summer got him a gift certificate to design his own pair. He clocked some time down at Niketown and 4 weeks later, poof...original kicks, complete with monogram and B-day. His experience was seamless and exciting, like a kid in a candy store.
|
| |

November 11, 2008 - Vikings, Runners and Waffles
A few weeks ago Appaman was a proud sponsor of the Norwegian Festival in Central Park. It was a great event that combined all things Nordic. Every year the Norwegian Consulate hosts this amazing event that honors sparkling fjords, Jarlsberg cheese, waffles, and nine-time New York City Marathon champion Grete Waitz.
The day is complete with a half marathon, norwegian folk dancing and a triumphant troll stroll (kids race). We were thrilled to be asked to participate. We had Appaman tattoos and a raffle for clothes. Such a fun day and a great opportunity to touch base with our Nordic roots.
|
| |

October 24, 2008 - Da lil' guy's got style
Cool kid Moses Martin out for a stroll wearing his all-attitude Appaman Black Puffy coat. These pictures went around the world and back late last week and it gave a great bang to our weekend knowing that we have a heavy hitter repping the monkey across the pond. Cheers to that!!
|
| |

October 2, 2008 - Proud to be part of it!
We at Appaman feel it is very important to accommodate our customer, we also feel the necessity to accommodate the under
served in our community. We are proud to be a part of a wonderful organization called Baby Buggy. Our donations provide
hundreds of children in NYC with needed clothing throughout the year.
Founded in 2001 by Jessica Seinfeld, Baby Buggy works with an extensive network of community based organizations in the
five boroughs of New York City to distribute a wide range of new and gently used essentials, from cribs and strollers to
clothing and diapers. Since its inception, Baby Buggy has donated over 3 million items, all of which are vetted for safety
and utility. To learn more please visit babybuggy.org.

August 28, 2008 - Forever in Blue Jeans
Denim is here!! It has arrived and the reaction is
overwhelming. We are thrilled with the collection
and happy that it shipped without a hitch.
We are starting to see little dark wash mini skirts dancin'
around Brooklyn and the fit is adorable. US magazine did a
bit on the Railroad carpenter pants for their back to school
must haves and we couldn't agree more.
We just want
to remind you all that denim is a stock item and can be reordered
at anytime. We have already started intentions for next year and
we are looking at some really great washes and that all too
important element of stretch. Come see us and consider our indigo.
Peace out!

August 18, 2008 - The Power of Fluorescent Light
The August ENK Children’s Club was last weekend and
it was the most fun under fluorescent lights that I
can remember. Appaman was representing with a super
strong Spring/Summer collection. We have a ton of fun
new bodies combined with an eye popping color palette.
We are thrilled with the results of this first showing
and excited to continue the sales throughout the season.
For local vendors we are offering up food and buying
in our showroom. If we haven’t gotten in touch with
you and you are within driving distance please call
us for an appointment at 212 460 5480. If you failed
to make it to NYC in the blazing heat of August and
are planning on gracing us with you presence in October
please contact ahead of time for appointments if you’d like. Hasta October!!

July 29, 2008 - A Super Saturday
Over the weekend Appaman was one of the more than 100
designers invited to participate in the "Rolls Royce
of Garage Sales" in the Hamptons. The event is called
Super Saturday and all proceeds go to the Ovarian Cancer
Research Fund. I promise you this was no garage sale.
It was such an experience!
Imagine shopping at the best sample sale
ever in blazing 100 degree heat. Everything was
available from Dyson vacuum cleaners to $600 salvaged
Japanese denim. Appaman had a great showing. We met
tons of current customers and made many new ones. It
is always great to give back and pay it forward. A
hot and fun time was had by all.
|
| |

July 23, 2008 - Appaman Rocks the Carroll Park Concert Series
Since our customers are kids, we always try to lend a
hand when an event or fundraiser is geared toward our
peeps. Carroll Park is the epi-center of everyone's
life in BOCOCA (three very child-friendly
neighborhoods in Brooklyn). Every summer the park
produces a free concert series for kids. Appaman is
very proud to sponsor this event. We have been a part
of this series for three years and all the proceeds go
to the upkeep of the park.
The tiny citizens that
frequent Carroll Park have been very good to Appaman
and we feel it is important to be good right back.
These fun filled afternoon concerts are complete with
music, dance, popcorn and everyone's favorite...face
painting.

July 14, 2008 -- Back to School
Although it is still two months away, shipping season
has begun. The container arrived yesterday and
tomorrow is our seasonal pilgrimage to Jersey to see
the container and look upon in great respect at the
number of boxes. It is a day to get to know the
warehouse crew and give pre-season thanks to everyone
who will be paramount in running the show. We hope
you are ready for a great season. We have some great
merchandise coming your way. The denim is in customs
and just days away from arriving. We got a sneak peak
at the PP samples and they were perfect so with bated
breath we await the next bag of goodies.

July 7th 2008 - New Digs and Lunch Dates
So we got new digs... and a new member of Team
Appaman. Our new address is 195 Chrystie St. Suite 404
New York New York 10002. If it sounds familiar, it
should, we moved across the hall. We increased our
space threefold, got a rockin' chandelier and upgraded
the AC. We have a great view of the new New Museum and
we still get to cross the threshold of cabbage from
the chinatown wholesaler next door.
Our new team player is Summer Walker. She comes to us
with a great background in the industry and a winning
personality that makes her a coveted mate at lunch.
She's fun, organized and pays close attention to
detail. It was a long road to get her but well worth
the journey. We are smitten.
