EDI Account Manager

Overview: Appaman is seeking an EDI Account Manager. We are a successful NY-based children’s apparel company with an intensely loyal following. At least 3 years of relevant experience, and strong knowledge of EDI, is absolutely required.

About the role

Our EDI Account Manager is a key member of our growing team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of many of our most important clients, and you will be our primary in-house EDI expert.

Candidates who are not fluent in EDI will not be considered and need not apply. Apparel experience is a plus but is not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain shipping and routing compliance for major accounts.
  • Management of required EDI transactions, cancel dates, routing deadlines, shipment methods, etc.
  • Daily communication with warehouse teams to ensure on time routing, shipping, etc.
  • Contact sales reps, buyers and assistants regarding extensions and shipping updates.
  • Manage purchase orders from initial bulk allocation through shipment.
  • Ensure all EDI transactions are sent and received by deadline.
  • Analyze, review, dispute and/or submit chargeback violations for processing.
  • Accounts receivable for major accounts.
  • Create and maintain UPC catalogs in accordance with GDSN standards.
  • Order required supplies for customer orders such as hangers, price tickets, etc.

 

A successful candidate MUST have…

Fluency with the following platforms:

  • MS Excel
  • RMS
  • GS1
  • GXS
  • Intertrade
  • Apparel Magic (a plus but is not required)


Experience with the following accounts:

  • Nordstrom
  • Neiman Marcus
  • Saks Fifth Avenue
  • Zappos

The position will be based in our Flatiron (New York, NY) office. Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Production Assistant

Are you good with numbers, meticulous with data entry, and can totally nerd out over the limitless capabilities of Excel?  Do you have an analytical mind, but you enjoy working in a creative work environment?

 

Appaman is looking for an entry-level production assistant who can help make our designs come to life and expand our amazing and growing kids brand. The ideal candidate is extremely detail oriented, skilled at data analysis and is highly self-motivated. If this sounds like you, consider joining a remarkable team at our creative, entrepreneurial spirited HQ in the heart of Manhattan. 

 

What you’ll do:

Assist the production manager in all aspects of producing a garment, right down to bringing the final product into stores.  Specific job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Preserving & developing the production calendar in an effort to ensure delivery deadlines are met.
  • Utilizing a cloud based inventory system to catalog and manage new collection styles.
  • Interacting daily with oversees factories to coordinate shipments, follow up on concerns and track production progress.
  • Examining garment details to determine trim, hangtag and labeling needs.
  • Preparing and analyzing progress, inventory and warehouse receiving reports.
  • Aiding in purchase order creation, maintenance and submission to factories.
  • Communicating with both the sales team and the warehouse regarding deliveries, shipping issues and inventory discrepancies.
  • Collecting and formatting packing lists and other shipping documents.
  • Reviewing and verifying invoices from factories.
  • Evaluating and organizing product test results.
  • Ordering and managing office supplies.

 

What we’re looking for:         

  • A college graduate with passion and enthusiasm for bettering our brand.
  • Advanced user skills in MS Excel and proficiency in MS Word.
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator is a plus.
  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Extreme attention to detail, while maintaining the ability to see the overall picture.
  • Strong follow-up skills and superior organizational abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills. (Fluency in Mandarin is a plus)
  • Kindness, sense of humor, and a positive, can-do attitude.
